John H. Payne

John H. Payne, 87, of Goshen, died at his home Sunday afternoon, October 4, 2015. He was born May 9, 1928 in Harriman, Tennessee to Virgil and Alice (Lawson) Payne. On August 25, 1948 he married Mary Culp in Goshen. She survives along with two daughters, Patsy (Marty) Gouker and Anna Elliott and a son, Charles (Dina) Payne, all of Goshen; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Leonard and Gene Payne. A Goshen resident since 1942, Mr. Payne worked at Mogul and Triangle Rubber for a total of 40 years before retiring. He had served in the United States Marine Corps. A private graveside service will be conducted at West Goshen Cemetery. Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
