John O. Miller, 89, of Goshen, died early Thursday morning, November 8, 2012, at Emily's House at Waterford Crossing. He had recently suffered a stroke. He was born August 22, 1923, in Goshen, to Owen and Sarah (Lehman) Miller. On September 29, 1946, he married Amelia "Millie" Ruth Jones in Middlebury. She died November 10, 1990. He later married Alberta (Schrock) Beachy May 9, 1992, in Goshen. She survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Rachel Miller of Brooklyn New York, Joy (J.D.) Gerber of White Pigeon, Michigan, and Miriam (Nathan) Yoder of Harrisonburg, Virginia; five sons, Elwayne Miller of Middlebury, Elroy (Linda) Miller of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Galen (Cheryl) Miller of Chandler, Arizona, Keith Miller of Middlebury, and Mark (Phyllis) Miller of Mechanicsburg, Ohio; three step-daughters, Emma (Wayne) Beachy and Anita (Todd) Neuschwander, both of Goshen, and Marilee (Donald) Gingerich of Clarksville, Michigan; a step-son, Gary D. Beachy, of Middlebury; 29 grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren, 1 step-great-grandson; three great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Ida Bontrager and Edna Graber, both of Middlebury, and Sarah (Frank) Christner of Arkansas.; and a brother, Owen (Carol) Miller, Jr. of Goshen. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; a son, Phillip Lynn Miller; a grandson, Andrew Lynn Miller; two sisters, Alice Miller and Mary Bontrager; and a brother, Edward Miller. A lifetime resident and local farmer, Mr. Miller drove school bus many years for Goshen Community Schools and 13 years for Greencroft. Mr. Miller loved the Lord and was very active in the Conservative Mennonite Church and Christian education. Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, November 9 and 10, and one hour prior to the 2 p.m., Sunday, November 11, 2012 funeral service, at Living Water Mennonite Church, 65215 CR 27, Goshen. Pastor Todd Neuschwander, son-in-law, and Pastor Marvin Troyer, both of Living Water Mennonite Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Clinton Union Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be directed to Clinton Christian School or Gospel Echoes Prison Ministry.
