John E. Mann, Do

John E. Mann, D.O., 78, of Goshen died unexpectedly at his home Thursday morning, June 17, 2010. He was born in Elkhart on July 7, 1931, to the late Clifford Mann and Helen (Ebersole) Mann of Goshen.  He married Eleanor Jean Detwiler on July 7, 1956 in Elkhart.  She survives. Also surviving are two sons, James R. Mann of Elkhart, and Jay E. (Laurel) Mann of Lafayette; three grandsons, Caleb, Josh, and Noah; two sisters, Lois Eberly of Fort Wayne and Margaret (Wes) Steiner of Middlebury; and a brother, Larry Hesed of Pawnee Rock, Kansas. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Mann. A graduate of Concord High School, Goshen College, and Chicago Osteopathic, he was a member of College Mennonite Church.  He was a physician in the Elkhart and Goshen communities for more than 30 years.  He was instrumental in establishing the Center for Healing and Hope, Goshen. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, June 20, in the Koinonia Room at College Mennonite Church. An 11:00 a.m., memorial service will be conducted on Monday, June 21, 2010, at College Mennonite Church.  Pastor June Alliman Yoder will officiate. His cremains will be scattered at College Mennonite Church Garden. Memorials may be given to Center for Healing and Hope.
