John R. Lorenz

John R. Lorenz, 84 of Goshen died Saturday, June 8, 2019 at home.

He was born July 11, 1934 in Miami County to Raymond and Beulah (Sproal) Lorenz.

Survivors include his children, Vickie (Bud) Etsinger of New Paris, Pam Devine of Goshen and Jeff (Kelly) Lorenz of New Paris; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary (Jim) Combs of Bristol; and three brothers, Merle Lorenz of Goshen, Kenneth (Marilyn) Lorenz of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Gary (Jody) Lorenz of Elkhart.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joann (Richards) Lorenz, a son, Kim Lorenz, and three sisters, Doris and Phyllis Lorenz, and Martha Lewallen.

Mr. Lorenz worked at Mishler Packing Company, Shipshewana for 48 years before his retirement.

A member of Dunlap United Methodist Church, John enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing.  He especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.

A 10 a.m. funeral service will be conducted Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Dunlap United Methodist Church, 23674 U.S. Highway 33 East, Elkhart.  Rev. Jerald E. Turner will officiate.

Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
