John "Dean" Leer

John “Dean” Leer, 83, of Goshen early Monday morning, April 24, 2006, at Goshen General Hospital.   He was born January 6, 1923, in Middlebury, Indiana, to Willard Benjamin and Mamie Elizabeth (Cripe) Leer.  On December 17, 1946, in Goshen he married Gloria J. Leatherman.   She died August 17, 1995.   An architect, Mr. Leer worked at the former Mogul Rubber for 27 years.   He was a member of Goshen City Church of the Brethren and the Goshen VFW.   He is survived by a son, Gary (Andrea) Leer of Milford; five grandchildren; and a brother Lamar Leer of Goshen.   He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria.   Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 26 at the funeral home.   A 2:00 p.m. funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home on Thursday, April 27, 2006.  Pastor Yvonne Riege of Goshen City Church of the Brethren and Rev. Wayne Lawson, retired minister, will officiate.   Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.   Memorials may be directed to Goshen City Church of the Brethren or Alzheimers Services of Northern Indiana.
