John Carroll Hostetler

February 1, 1928 — April 24, 2012

John C. Hostetler, 84, of Goshen, died Tuesday morning, April 24, 2012, at IU Health Goshen Hospital after an extended illness. He was born February 1, 1928 in South Bend to Josiah and Mary (Schermerhorn) Hostetler. He married Bonnie Inbody September 26, 1948 in Goshen. She survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Marsha (Dan) Miller of Middlebury; three sons, Gregg (Brenda) Hostetler of Mims, Florida, Barney (Julie) and Rodney (April) Hostetler, both of New Paris; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jean Hawk. A 1946 graduate of Shipshewana High School, served with the US Navy during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post #30, VFW Post #985, Goshen DAV Post #15 and the Goshen Moose Lodge #836. In his younger days he enjoyed bowling. He delivered motor homes for the RV Industry. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 27, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m., Saturday, April 28, 2012, funeral service will be conducted. Burial with military honors by the Goshen Honor Guard, will follow at West Goshen Cemetery.
