John David Guipe, 62, of Goshen passed away Wednesday, Oct. 2, at Brickyard Healthcare in Elkhart, where he had been living after experiencing a stroke in May.
He was born July 16, 1962, at Goshen Hospital to John R. “Jack” Guipe, who preceded him in death, and Susan Hostetler Guipe.
He graduated from Goshen High School in 1980 and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Indiana University in 1990.
John loved the game of golf and worked as a golf professional for many years in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Tennessee, Arkansas, Florida and St. Croix, as well as for Princess Cruises. He also enjoyed music, movies and dressing well, earning the nickname “Snapper” in high school for his signature Izod polo shirts.
He is survived by his sons, Daniel and Jackson; their mother, Krista Cohee Guipe; and his mother and sister, Elizabeth Guipe Hall (Scott) of Indianapolis.
Services are scheduled for Saturday, October 12, at Goshen First Church, 214 S. 5th St., with visitation beginning at Noon followed by a 1 p.m. memorial service.
