John J. Eldridge

John J. Eldridge, 92, of Goshen, died Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at Green House Village of Goshen.

He was born September 23, 1928 in Goshen to John H. and Marie (Paff) Eldridge.

On September 25, 1948 he married Carol Cripe.  She died August 4, 2013.

Survivors include three sons, David (Judith) Eldridge and Douglas (Joyce) Eldridge, both of Goshen and Jeffrey (Tamela) Eldridge of Brown’s Summit, North Carolina; a son-in-law, Glenden Bontrager of Kendallville; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Louise (Joe) Dano of Lafayette.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Bontrager; a brother, Chuck and infant sister, Alice Marie.

A 1946 graduate of Goshen High School, Mr. Eldridge retired from NIPSCO in 1988 after 40 years of service.  He was a member of First United Methodist Church and a former member of Maplecrest Country Club.

Private family services will be held Monday, December 28, 2020, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.

Friends are invited to the graveside service at Violett Cemetery on Monday, December 28, 2020, at approximately 11:45 a.m.

Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church or American Cancer Society.
