John W. Dolph

November 27, 1940 — August 22, 2020

John Wayne Dolph, 79, of Goshen passed away into the loving arms of his Savior on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Elkhart General Hospital. He had been ill for five months.

He was born November 27, 1940 in Quincy, Michigan. He was raised by his grandparents John and Adella Mann.

He married Sheilia Dumas on June 7, 1969 in Hillsdale, Michigan. She survives along with children Stephanie (Glenn) Claar, Jonathan (Adrienne) Dolph, and Jeremy (Stacey) Dolph all of Elkhart; Joshua (Mendella) Dolph, and Jordan Dolph, both of Goshen; 22 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers Kenneth (Lois) Keeton and Nick Keeton of Coldwater, Michigan.

John worked at DANA Corporation in Syracuse as a line maintenance worker for 35 years before he retired. He was a member at Grace Community Church and also a member of the UAW. Mr. Dolph enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, and skating. He also was a street racer when he was younger. John adored his family very much.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2020 at Grace Community Church, 20076 C.R. 36, Goshen from 4 to7 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Friday, Aug. 28, at 1 p.m., also at the church. Pastor John Rauch will officiate and burial will follow at Violett Cemetery.

A widow’s fund has been set up at Interra Credit Union in the name of Sheilia Dolph to help with medical and other expenses.  If you wish to donate, the account number is 448576.
