John "Jack" C. Martin

John “Jack” C. Martin, 95, of Goshen, passed away Friday, November 25, 2016 in the emergency room at Goshen Hospital.

He was born August 29, 1921 in Easton, Illinois to Charles M. and Ava E. (Chambers) Martin.

On April 27, 1952 he married Mary K. Stuck in Goshen.  She died in 1996.

He is survived by a daughter, Karen A. (Michael) Putnam of South Bend; a brother, Donald R. (Dorothy) Martin of Petaluma, California; and seven nieces and nephews.

An area resident since 1935, Mr. Martin graduated from Goshen High School and worked as a railroad postal clerk and then at the Elkhart Post Office, retiring after 38 years of service.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the American Legion, the D.A.V. and the V.F.W.

The family thanks Courtyard Healthcare staff and Goshen Hospital emergency room staff for the care provided to Jack.

No public services will be conducted.
