John F. Bowers

John F. Bowers, 91, of Niles, Michigan died Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph, Michigan.

He was born Jan. 8, 1929 in North Liberty.

Survivors include his wife, Mary (Igo) Bowers of Warsaw; a son, Kenneth (Karen) Bowers of Niles, Michigan; four step grandchildren; 14 step great grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Jones of Niles, Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Bowers; his mother, Flossie (Taylor) Bowers; a son, John Bowers; a brother, Jim Bowers; and two wives, Joyce M. (Clark) Bowers and Pearl “Rusty” (Waggoner) Bowers.

A U.S. Army veteran, John was a member of Moose Lodge #836, Goshen.  He worked as a tool and die maker. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outside and riding his motorcycle.

A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Violett Cemetery.
