Joanne B. Sheline

Joanne B. Sheline, 84, of Goshen, died Tuesday evening, October 21, 2008, at Greencroft Gables. She was born in Culver, Indiana, on December 30, 1923 to Clifford and Blanche (Hatten) Loser.  She married Burdette “Beets” Sheline on July 16, 1944 in the First United Church of Christ, Goshen.  He died February 22, 2002. A Goshen resident since 1936, Mrs. Sheline retired from Goshen Rubber Company in 1986, after 29 years in sales.  She was a member of the First United Church of Christ for 68 years.  She graduated from Goshen High School in 1943.  She was a big sports fan, especially enjoying Indiana University basketball and Chicago Cubs baseball.  She enjoyed gardening and traveling. She is survived by two sons, Craig S. (Cathy) Sheline of Fort Wayne, and Robert B. (Jean Kincaid) Sheline of Goshen; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, James E. (Elaine) Loser of Leesburg, and Jack W. (Janet) Loser of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her husband; a grandson, Scott M. Sheline on June 20, 2005; two sisters, Marion Rose Huss and Virginia Darr; and a brother, Carl E. Loser. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, October 24 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. A 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 25, 2008, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Rev. John von Lackum of the Plymouth United Church of Christ, Goshen will officiate. Burial will be in West Goshen Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Goshen Care at Home Hospice or First United Church of Christ.
