Joann Burt

JoAnn Burt, 75, of Goshen, died Friday evening, July 31, 2009, at The Maples where she had been a patient since July 22. She was born in Goshen on March 2, 1934, to John J. and Frona E. (Dull) Miller.  A 1952 graduate of Goshen High School, she pitched for the first Girls' Softball team in 1951-1952.  She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Null of Goshen; two grandsons, David Jones and P.J. Null; two great-granddaughters, Jacqueline and Isabella Jones; a sister, Beatrice Miller of Indianapolis; and two brothers, Robert Miller of Cassopolis, Michigan, and Donald (Dee Anna) Miller of Goshen. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Tom Norman in 1961 and David Jones in 1983; three sisters, Mary Baer, Betty Hartzler and LaVerne Powell; and five brothers, Roland, Paul, Ray, Bill and Murlin Miller. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, August 3, at the funeral home. A 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 4, 2009, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Donor's Choice.
