Joan M. Stouder

Joan M. Stouder, 82, died early Thursday morning, April 21, 2011, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa.  She was born in Bremen, on October 15, 1928 to the late Joseph and Grace (Balsley) Haas.  In 1967 Mrs. Stouder moved from Elkhart to New Paris where she lived for many years before moving to Wakarusa.  She married Arden D. Stouder on October 29, 1948, in Osceola.  He preceded her in death on June 16, 2001.  A homemaker, Mrs. Stouder enjoyed sewing, cooking, and puzzles.  She is survived by three daughters, Charlene J. (Ray) Hawk, East Meadow, New York, Darlene A. (Jay) Reed, Noblesville, Kimberly J. (Gerie) Mast, Goshen; one son, Galen D. (Darlene) Stouder, New Paris; three sisters, Betty Miller, Dorothy Bentley, both of Elkhart, Pat Branson, Osceola; one brother, Eugene Haas, Osceola; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one sister, Marvene Wilson.  Friends may call from 4-8 p.m., Monday, April 25, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 26, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Associate Pastor Norm Reimer, of Nappanee Missionary Church, will officiate.  Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery, Nappanee.  Memorials may be made out to the American Heart Association.
