JoAn Leslie Roe Fisher, 68, passed away at her home Sunday morning,May 12, 2013, after a brief illness. She was born February 12, 1945 in Knoxville, Tenn. to William Charles Roe II and Mary Jo (Carithers)Luke. She married Larry Fisher June 19, 1964 in Elkhart. He survives along with a daughter, Jennifer (Ed) Garcia, Elkhart; a son, Scott (Jodi) Fisher, Goshen; her mother, Mary Jo Luke, Goshen; five grandchildren, Ian, Devynn and Christian Fisher and Gabe and Emanuel "Manny" Garcia; a sister, Marcy (Dick) Cochran, Elkhart; a brother, Mike (Tina) Roe, Paw Paw, Mich.; three step-sisters, Janet (Dean) Strycker, South Bend, Joyce (John) Godby, Ken. and Jane Luke, Goshen; and a step-brother, John (Sandy) Luke, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, William Charles "Chuck" Roe III. A lifetime area resident, JoAn enjoyed reading; spending time with her grandchildren and attending all of their many activities. She retired from Goshen General Hospital where she had worked in admitting. Friends may call on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, 2 to 4 and from 5 to until the 7 p.m., funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the service and private family burial will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Elkhart County Humane Society, Goshen Cancer Center or to the family.
