Joan M. Lawrence

Joan M. Lawrence, 70, of Goshen, died Monday, October 25, 2010, at Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis. She was born October 23, 1940 in Arlington, South Dakota, to the late Lars and Ruby (Nettleton) Jensen.  She married Devon P. Lawrence on April 19, 1977 in Goshen.  He survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Tamra (Dave) Grosse, of New Paris, Faith Slayton of Dunlap and Kimberlie Hill, of Cromwell; three sons, Andrew (Miriam) Hill of New Brighton, Minnesota, David Lawrence of Goshen and Edward (Dawn) Hill of Evansville; 20 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Yvonne (Jene) Ford and Jean (William) Kercher, both of Goshen, and June (Larry) Elliot of Franklin, North Carolina; and a brother, Jerry Jensen of New Paris. She was preceded by two sisters, Judy DuFour and Joyce Troyer. Most recently she had worked at The Elkhart Truth and she had previously worked as a dental assistant. She graduated from Wakarusa High School in 1958 and was a member of the Prairieview Missionary Church, Goshen. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, October 28, at the funeral home. A 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 29, 2010, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Craig Lambright will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to the Prairieview Missionary Church.
