Joan B Chalk, 79, of Goshen passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Goshen Hospital.
She was born May 11, 1942 in South Bend to Richard and Violet (Kasershi) Vandermark.
On October 21, 1959 she married William T. Chalk in Warsaw.
Joan is survived by four children, Cindy Yoder of Goshen, Judy (Tom) Hoopingarner of New Paris, Chester (Cindy) Chalk of Syracuse and Billy Chalk of Bronson, Michigan; her fiancé, Sam Keene, 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two siblings, Carolyn (Richard) Rush of South Bend and Mark (Linda) Sevy of Granger.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Steve Sevy and Fred Ligget and two grandsons.
Joan worked in the production floor at Kreuter Manufacturing, New Paris and retired as a customer service representative from Walmart where she was known as “Walmart Lady”. She was very a loved and inspiring lady. She loved to dance, Elvis, riding motorcycles and most of all she loved her family specially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday, January 24, 2022 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where an 11 a.m. funeral service will take place Tuesday, January 25, 2022. Burial will follow at New Paris Cementery.
