J.L. "Casey" Jones

J.L. “Casey” Jones, 80, of Wakarusa, formerly of Nappanee, died Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at The Waters of Wakarusa.

He was born August 15, 1944 in Stone Bluff Indiana to Jesse and Faye (Darling) Jones.

Survivors include a daughter, Tammy (Tim) Rock, Nappanee; a son, Russell (Alicia) Jones, Elkhart; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Rita (Red) Hansborough, Danville, Illinois and a brother, J.C. (Teresa) Jones, Sumpter, South Carolina.

Along with his parents and sister Ruby Ellen Thompson  he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn (Miller) Jones in 2012.

Casey was a hard worker. He was a long haul truck driver prior to working for Middlebury Community Schools as a custodian. After retiring from being a custodian, he worked for the Coffee News.

He was a gun enthusiast and enjoyed classic cars and collecting bald eagle themed items.

A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, August 15, 2025, at 1pm at Yoder Culp Funeral Home. Visitation  will begin at 12 pm.

Burial of his cremated remains will follow at Yellow Creek Cemetery,  for immediate family.
