Jesse H. Ax

Jesse H. Ax, 84, of Goshen, formerly of Millersburg, died Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Goshen Hospital.

He was born December 28, 1935 in Millersburg to Herschel and Madonna (Long) Ax.

On March 28, 1959 he married Jean Yoder in Millersburg.  She died June 22, 2015.

Survivors include three daughters, Susan Ax of Millersburg, Diane (Mark) Kritzman of Goshen and Kathy (Mark) Eash of Bristol; a son, Jeff Ax of Millersburg; four grandchildren, Karrin (Josh) Koontz, Sara (Derek) Reafsnyder, Miles (Amanda) Kritzman and Zachary (Sarah) Eash; and eight great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Coles.

Mr. Ax was a U.S. Army veteran. He owned and operated Jesse’s Little Store in Millersburg for many years. Jesse was member of the American Legion, Millersburg, and Clinton Township Fire Depart. He enjoyed participating in Civil War reenactments as a fur trader.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 11 a.m until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Following the Elkhart County Health mandate, masks and limited numbers will be required.

Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery, Millersburg.
