Jerry Young

Jerry Young, 76, of Goshen, died Tuesday morning, October 3, 2023 at Majestic Care of Goshen.

He was born September 21, 1947 in Elkhart to Melvin B. and Estella (Miller) Young.

On July 15, 2005 he married Rachel Shook.

She survives along with his two sons, Jeff Young and Johnathan Young; a step-daughter, Esther Hernandez of Goshen; a step-son, Marvin Kleitz, Elkhart; 10 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Other survivors include three sisters, Margaret Starr and Marcella Cane, both of Elkhart, and Blanch Peerce of Glendale, Kentucky; and a brother, Marty Young.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Elijah, and a brother, Howard Young.

A life-long area resident, Jerry retired from Patrick Industries. He was a man of God, kind and full of light, always ready to help others. His obsession with Pepsi was a running family joke.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 10, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home prior to going in procession to Olive West Cemetery, Elkhart for a graveside service.
