Jerry K. Smith

Jerry K. Smith, 69, of Milford, died Saturday morning, August 11, 2012, after a long battle with cancer. He was born June 13, 1943 in Goshen to the late Edgar and Kathryn (Wilcox) Smith. He married Susan Brown February 3, 1978 in Goshen. She survives. Also surviving are four sons, Mike, David and Eddie Smith and Joe (Sarah) Graham and their son, Dade; another grandson; a great-grandson; and two sisters, Jayne Weldy and Jeanne Northrop, both of Sebring, Florida. He was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Charlton. A longtime resident of the area, Mr. Smith was a policeman with both the Goshen Police Department and the Florida State Highway Patrol. Following his retirement he worked as a grounds keeper at South Shore Golf Club and delivered the South Bend Tribune. He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Syracuse. His body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 2, 2012. Rev. Larry R. Biller will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
