Jerry Ounsombath

Jerry Ounsombath, 70, of Bristol died Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born May 1, 1948 in Champasak, Laos to Oun and Osa Ounsombath.

On April 15, 1973 he married Karen Matmanivong in Laos.

She survives along with four daughters, Jinna (Yoth) Khamkeuang of Bristol, Phong (Keith) Kinsella of South Bend, Olyvane (Shawn MacMillan) Ounsombath of Elkhart, and Lily (Chris) Vargo of Charleston, South Carolina; a son, Mike (Noi) Ounsombath of Fort Wayne; and 11 grandchildren.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Khamlah Phaiyeapuck and Bounkong Ounsombath.

A local resident since 1990, Jerry was a loving and creative family man. He would go out of his way to help others and made a lasting impression on those he met. He worked for Norco Industries, Elkhart, prior to retirement.

A Buddhist funeral service will take place Saturday, Feb. 9, at 11 a.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.  Cremation will follow the service.
