Jerry D. Hapner, 80, of Goshen, died Saturday, April 30, 2022 at The Maples at Waterford Crossing.
He was born April 20, 1942 in Elkhart County to Ira E. and Viola (Drake) Hapner.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry D. (Leann Adams) Hapner II, and Dean Hapner, both of Plymouth; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and companion, Sofia Hapner.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ira E. Hapner, Jr., and a sister, Sharon L. Ash.
A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Hapner retired as a truck driver from Smoker Craft, Inc., and previously drove for CFI Trucking. He was a ham radio operator. Jerry enjoyed car racing, riding motorcycles, and especially having coffee at Martin’s with friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 7, 2022 from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m., funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. Pastor John Randolph, People’s Bible Church, will officiate.
Burial at Solomon Creek Cemetery, Syracuse, will take place at a later date.
Memorial gifts may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
