Jerry L. Dinkeldein, 76, of Goshen, died early Saturday morning, June 12, 2010, at Goshen General Hospital. He was born on August 6, 1933, to the late Theodore and Gladys (Biller) Dinkeldein. He married Arlene A. Rogers on July 2, 1966. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Tim Dinkeldein of Goshen; a daughter, Jenny (Dirk) Schairer of Livonia, Michigan; two grandchildren, Lauren Dinkeldein and Michael Bodwin; siblings, Wayne (Martha) Dinkeldein and Anna Jo (Charlie) Jones, both of Nappanee. A Goshen resident since 1967, Mr. Dinkeldein graduated from Etna Green High School in 1950. He served with the US Army from 1951 to 1953 as a combat engineer. He worked as an engineer for 35 years for Johnson Controls until his retirement in 1996. He had been working for Doors & Drawers in Goshen until April. He had attended Plymouth United Church of Christ. He enjoyed woodworking, making furniture and gardening. A graveside service will be held on August 6, 2010, in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Goshen General Hospital Foundation.
