Jerome Troyer, Jr.

Jerome Troyer Jr., 88, a lifetime resident of Goshen, passed away peacefully at 9:58 a.m. on Friday, October 16, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Jerome was born on May 25, 1938, in Goshen, Indiana, to the late Jerome and Martha (Yoder) Troyer.

On August 23, 1958, he married the love of his life, Sally Culp, in Goshen. Sally recently passed away 16 days prior, on September 30, 2026.

Jerome is survived by his three sons: Rick R. (Joannie) Troyer of Elgin, Texas; Randy L. (Frances) Troyer of Dunlap, Indiana; and Rodney L. (Tammy) Troyer of Goshen, Indiana. He leaves behind six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by five sisters: Joyce Landis (Fred) of Motley, Minnesota; Donna Sommers (Dana) of Harrisonburg, Virginia; June Yoder (Stan) of Goshen, Indiana; Julia Bauman of Nappanee, Indiana; and Janice Hostetler (Amos) of Goshen, Indiana.

In addition to his parents and his beloved wife, Sally, he was preceded in death by one brother, Floyd Troyer, and a brother-in-law, Lee Bauman.

For 27 years, Jerome was the owner and operator of Troyer Welding, and he later worked various part-time jobs. A dedicated community member and faithful servant, he served with the Elkhart Township Fire Department for 18 years, regularly volunteered as a Red Coat at Goshen Hospital, and was an active member of the Community Church of Waterford. In his free time, Jerome especially enjoyed model trains.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 21, 2026 from 10 a.m. until the 12 p.m. funeral service at Community Church of Waterford. Pastor David Bunyan will officiate.

A private burial for Jerome and Sally will take place at West Goshen Cemetery, where they will be laid to rest together.
