Jerold “Jerry” Paul Troyer, 42, of Goshen, died at his home Monday evening, January 31, 2011. He was born in Goshen on May 31, 1968, to G. Weldon and Frances (Mumaw) Troyer. They survive along with two brothers, Michael (Julie) Troyer of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Richard “Rik” (Lori) Troyer of Idaho Falls, Idaho; a sister, Rebecca (Mark) Fontaine of Greenfield, Indiana; four nephews, Chris, Brian and Jack Troyer and Evan Fontaine; and two nieces, Loryn Troyer and Emily Fontaine. A gifted musician, Jerry played organ, keyboards, guitars and piano. He enjoyed jamming with his friends, doing yard work for his family and he liked to travel, especially to Puerto Rico. Jerry enjoyed playing games, and excelled at the game "Trivial Pursuit", with his family. He endeared himself to children, especially his nieces and nephews. He was a gentle, compassionate person, sensitive to the underprivileged and marginalized persons in society. He attended Bethany Christian and Goshen High Schools and later obtained his GED. He attended College Mennonite Church. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, February 7, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. An 11 a.m., memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at College Mennonite Church. Pastors June Alliman Yoder and Betty Hochstetler will officiate. Burial of cremains will be later at Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to ADNET, Anabaptist Disabilities Network, Goshen.
