Jeremiah Clawson

February 14, 2001 — November 7, 2025

Dowagiac, MI

Jeremiah Clawson (24) of Dowagiac, Michigan, passed away on November 7, 2025, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Jeremiah Eugene Clawson was born to Marty Clawson and Misty Stephens (Trenshaw) on February 14, 2001, in Goshen, Indiana. He moved to Dowagiac, Michigan, in 2018. He went to Goshen schools and later Dowagiac High School. Jeremiah worked as a mechanic for several years after high school. He loved all things diesels. It wasn’t uncommon for his family to hear him rev up the engine in his truck as he pulled into their driveway.

He was known as a kindhearted person. Family and friends describe him dropping everything to come help them whenever they needed him. He loved food and was affectionately called the “fridge raider” by his family. Jeremiah spread love and joy everywhere he went. He was the peacemaker and wanted everyone just to hang out and have fun. As a young boy, he was the quiet philosopher and mom’s creepiest creeper.

His favorite thing to do was pester his siblings and cousin to play Monopoly with him. Once he convinced them to play, he would laugh diabolically as he systematically took them out and won the game.

Jeremiah was an animal lover and never met one that disliked him.

Jeremiah was preceded in death by his brother Marty Clawson Jr., maternal great-grandpa Meredith “Mac” (Eileen) McCloskey, maternal Grandpa Roger Stephens, paternal great-grandpa Lloyd Schrock, paternal Great-Grandma Doris Schrock, paternal great-grandpa Eldo Clawson, and paternal great-grandma Ruby Clawson.

He is survived by his father, Marty (Jessica) Clawson; his mother, Misty (Troy) Trenshaw; and his siblings, Brandon Clawson, Abiah Clawson, Sierra Clawson, Tristan Clawson, Joseph Clawson, Wesley Clawson, and Jaylyn Trenshaw, step siblings, Zackery Trenshaw, Hayley Harding.

His grandparents also survive him; Joyce and Thomas Studle of Columbia City, Indiana, Beau and Louisa Ross of Goshen Indiana, Patty and John Gore of Wellston Michigan, George (Joyce) Myrkle of Dowagiac Michigan and Eileen McCloskey of Goshen, IN.
