Jerald "Jerry" James Evans

Jerald J. “Jerry” Evans, 78, of Goshen, passed away Friday, March 12, 2021, at home.

He was born December 21, 1942 in Goshen to Duerill and Gladys (Wogoman) Evans.

On June 16, 1963 he married Sally A. Stringfellow.

She survives along with two daughters, Sherry (Luke) Looney and Cathy (Scott) Lovely, both of Goshen; six grandchildren, Courtney, Brady, Joe, Jillian, Scott and Heather; seven great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Diane Maloney of Goshen, Roger (Ginger) Evans of Elkhart and Deloris Steward of Santa Margarita, California.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, William Bert Evans, Denny Evans, Davara Elmore, Philip Evans and Dorothy Hoover.

A lifetime Goshen resident, Mr. Evans worked at Miles/Bayer for 38 years, retiring in 2001.  He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1962.  He and Sally wintered in Ruskin, Florida for 14 years and they camped annually at Twin Mills, Howe, for 40 years.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 16, 2021, from 11:30 until the 1:30 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Rev. Timothy Yoder will officiate.

Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery.

Memorial donations in Jerry’s memory may be given to Center for Hospice Care.
