Jennie E. Mast, 89, of Elkhart, passed away at her home Wednesday evening, May 29, 2013, after an extended illness. She was born July 28, 1923 in Elkhart to Donald V. and Bessie (Conley) Bowman. She married William R. Mast May 10, 1946. He died in 1985. She is survived by a daughter, Madonna B. (Stephen T.) Nagy of Elkhart; three step-sons, Willard (Brenda) Mast of Elkhart and Paul and Earl Mast, both of Dalton, Ohio; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a step-son, Delbert Mast; and two sisters, Jady Jacobs and Myrtle Shank. A homemaker, Mrs. Mast worked at Miles Laboratory for several years and at a number of area restaurants. Jennie Eileen Mast was a homemaker who loved her job. Her hospitality was adorned by friends and family. Providing a warm, loving Christian atmosphere, she was the light of everyone's life. Along with her sense of humor, love for music and singing, she would sing with her two siblings in the church choir and performing at the Elkhart Orpheum Theater. Jennie loved her family and pets more than words can say. Even though she's gone her light will continue to illuminate everyone she touched. She will truly be missed. Family and friends will gather 11 a.m., Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Yellow Creek Cemetery, Goshen, for a graveside service. Pastor Jim Shrock, First Baptist Church, will officiate.
