Jeffrey M. Bauman

Jeffrey M. Bauman, 25, died Saturday afternoon, February 26, 2011, at his home. He had been ill since April 2010. He was born February 28, 1985, to Philip and Connie (Leinbach) Bauman of Goshen. They survive with his grandparents, Harold (Carolyn Hertzler) Bauman and Gene and Shirley Leinbach; and a brother, Mark Bauman, all of Goshen. He was preceded by a grandmother, Elizabeth Bauman. Jeff worked as a Trust Accounting Assistant at Everence (formerly Mennonite Mutual Aid), Goshen. He graduated from Bethany High School, Goshen, in 2003 and Goshen College in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in Business. He spent a year in LaJara, Colorado, with the Mennonite Voluntary Service program at Adams State Community Partnerships Business Support Center. An avid chess player, Jeff gave leadership to a number of area elementary, middle school, and high school chess clubs and programs most of the past seven years. Jeff enjoyed hiking, camping, bicycling and Notre Dame football and basketball. He was a member of Berkey Avenue Mennonite Fellowship. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 pm Friday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 4 pm on Saturday at Berkey Avenue Mennonite Fellowship, Goshen. Rev. Dan Schrock of the church will officiate. Burial at Violett Cemetery, Goshen, will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Mennonite Voluntary Service.
