Jeanette D. Miller, 98,died Friday, May 1, 2026 at Greencroft Healthcare.
She was born on January 4, 1928, in Waterford Mills to Owen R. Miller and Rosa (Cassell) Miller.
Jeanette married Cecil R. Miller on May 25, 1947. Together they raised three children: Randy J. Miller, Bruce R. Miller, and Catherine J. Hayes.
She was preceded in death by her sister Lois L (Miller) Rumsey; her brothers, Floyd C. Miller and Terry A. Miller; and her husband, Cecil R. Miller.
She was an active member of Plymouth United Church of Christ, where she taught third- and fourth grade Sunday School, served on various committees, and sang in the choir. Jeanette worked for the Goshen Police Department for several years and was one of the city's first meter maids.
Jeanette and her husband volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in Americus, Georgia, helping to build several homes. She also volunteered as a library helper while living in South Bend. The couple enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the United States and abroad, including attending the 1984 Olympic Games in California and visiting the United Kingdom, France, and Scotland in 2001.
Above all, Jeanette valued her family and education. She took great pride in her children and their accomplishments, especially that each earned a college degree.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, prior to the 11 a.m. memorial service.
Cremation will take place with burial at Violett Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial gifts can be directed to the Goshen American Legion designated for the Veterans Fund.
