Jean M. Snoberger, 97, of Goshen died Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Greencroft Healthcare where she had resided for the past 14 months.
Jean was born May 16, 1925, in Aurora, Illinois to Edward H. and Margaret (Clemens) Schroeder.
In 1942 she met her future husband, Purdue student Robert Snoberger, on a blind date. After completing his service in WWII and his last year of college, they were married June 21, 1947, at Sacred Heart Church, Aurora, Illinois, before moving to Goshen.
Survivors include three daughters, Dr. Susan (Bill) Curran-Schuhart, Sandra Snyder, and Amy (Joseph) Pawlosky; three grandsons, Robert (Sara) Curran, Brian (Mareen) Curran, and Scott (Kristin) Snyder; and four great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; an infant daughter, Patricia; her twin brother, Edward “Bud” Schroeder, Jr.; a sister, Shirley Strouse, and many dear lifetime friends.
Jean devoted her life to her family; nothing was more important to her. She bequeathed back to each of her daughters all the things they had ever given her. She was a self-proclaimed professional check writer, loved playing the casino poker machines, cherished her nightly dish of ice cream, enjoyed her afternoon visits with her neighbors and was the forever optimist. She will be remembered for her sharp wit and unending dry sense of humor which always caught everyone off-guard and left them laughing.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 28, 2022, beginning at 9 a.m. prior to the 10 a.m. funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Goshen.
Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John’s Catholic Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
The family wishes to express its unending gratitude to the staff at Greencroft Healthcare for the wonderful and dedicated care given to our mother and grandmother during her stay.
