Jean A. Ax, 76, of Millersburg died early Monday morning, June 22, 2015 at The Maples at Waterford Crossing. She was born February 1, 1939 in Goshen to Howard and Romayne (Marty) Yoder. On March 28, 1959 she married Jesse Ax in Millersburg. He survives along with three daughters, Susan Ax of Millersburg, Diane (Mark) Kritzman of Goshen and Kathy (Mark) Eash of Bristol; a son, Jeff (Paula) Ax of Millersburg; five grandchildren, Karrin (Josh) Koontz, Sara Eash, Miles (Amanda) Kritzman, Jenica (Andrew) Fry and Zachary Eash; four great-grandchildren, Easton and Braxton Koontz and Noelle and Cecelia Fry; and a sister, Judy Rosheck of South Bend. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Phil Yoder. Jean was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Millersburg, the Be-Ys Home Ec. Club and the Goshen High School class of 1957. She completed her education at I.U.S.B. with a bachelor's degree in education. She worked as a teacher's aide in the Westview School district along with owning and operating Jesse's Little Store in Millersburg with her husband until they retired in 2008. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2015. Rev. James Clifton will officiate. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery, Millersburg. Memorial gifts may be directed to A.D.E.C. or the Spiritual Care Dept. at IU Health Goshen Hospital.
