Jay Alvin Miller, 88, of Goshen, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016, at Courtyard Healthcare.
He was born February 22, 1927 to Harold E. and Olla Mae (Mitschlen) Miller.
On April 13, 1946 he married Jeanette Twiford in Michigan City.
She survives along with four children, Steve (Mavis) Miller of Goshen, Dave (Margaret) Miller of Elkhart, Janice Pearson of Goshen and Randy (Sue Howell) Miller of Middlebury; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bob (Sharon) Miller of Elkhart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Dave Miller; a brother, Herman Miller and a stillborn sister.
Mr. Miller, a U.S. Navy veteran, served on the USS New Orleans from 1944 to 1946 as a radio operator. A Studebaker employee for many years, he later delivered RVs.
Friends may call Sunday, January 31, 2016, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m. Monday, February 1, 2016, funeral service will be conducted. Rev. Terry Tyler will officiate.
Burial will follow in West Goshen Cemetery.
