Jay Dean Kime

Jay Dean Kime, 85, died Thursday night, January 7, 2010, at Courtyard Healthcare, Goshen.  He was born on September 10, 1924 to the late Lloyd and Bernice (Edwards) Kime, in Middlebury.  He married Betty Mae Showalter on November 4, 1949, at the Plymouth United Church of Christ, Goshen.  She survives.  Mr. Kime, along with his wife, owned and operated Kime Nursery and Greenhouse, Goshen, for 44 years.  A 1942 graduate of Goshen High School, Mr. Kime was a member of the Plymouth United Church of Christ, the Goshen Elks Club, and Maplecrest Country Club.  He was also World War II Army Veteran where he belonged to the Rainbow Division.  He is survived by two sons, Jeff L. (Sabrina) Kime, Elkhart, Brad J. Kime, Indianapolis; and four grandsons.  He was preceded in death by one brother Don Kime.  Friends may call from 1-4 p.m., Sunday, January 10, 2010, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m., Monday, January 11, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Rev. John von Lackum of the Plymouth United Church of Christ will officiate.  Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.  Memorials may be given in lieu of flowers to the Plymouth United Church of Christ, Goshen.
