Jay L. Hershberger, 77, of New Paris, died Friday, February 6, 2026, at Goshen Hospital surrounded by his wife and kids.
He was born on January 12, 1949, to Edwin S. and Ellen “Arlene” (Hoover) Hershberger in Goshen.
Jay married Beverly Milne on August 16, 1970, at East Goshen Mennonite Church in Goshen.
Beverly survives, as well as sons Robert Hershberger, Sam Hershberger, Ben (Rochelle) Hershberger, Jonathan (Candace) Hershberger, and Andy Hershberger; daughters Amy (Rajesh) Wankhade, and Elly (Jesse) Eisenhour; 19 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, June (Fernando) Trcka; sister-in-law, Shirley Hershberger; brother, Dr. Daryl (Geraldine) Hershberger; and sisters, Sharon (Sam) Zepeda, and Rita (Greg) Bontrager.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother David Hershberger.
Jay was a member of Hope Church in Atwood. Before retiring, he worked at Quality Restoration Services. He enjoyed working outdoors, playing guitar, and spending time with his family. He was a faithful husband, father, and follower of Jesus Christ.
Visitation will take place on Friday, February 13, from 9-10:45 a.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Randy Foreman from Hope Church will officiate the service.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Yoder-Culp Funeral Home to help cover funeral expenses.
