Jason "Abe" A. Bontreger, 31, of Goshen, died at his home Saturday, February 11, 2012. He was born January 3, 1981 in Manistique, Michigan to Jason and Linda (Miller) Bontreger. Abe is survived by his parents of Goshen; a son, Calvin Stineman of Elkhart; two sisters, Ananda (Robert) Helsel of Indiana Trails, North Carolina, and Alayna Bontreger of Goshen; a niece, Leah Helsel; four nephews, Zane and Seth Helsel and Zachary and Brent Bontreger; grandparents, Vernon and Miriam Bontreger of Goshen and Myrtle Hawthorne of Shelton, washington; and his girlfriend, Char Sparkman of Goshen. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Abe and Vesta Miller. A longtime Goshen resident, Abe attended Bethany Christian High School where he played soccer for three years. Following his years at Bethany, Abe was an exchange student to Germany for a year. Upon his return he completed his high school career at Goshen High School. He worked as a photographer, photographing portraits, weddings and graduations. Friends may call from 4 until the 7 p.m. funeral service, Thursday, February 16, 2012, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Chris Howell, Zion Community Church, Millersburg, will officiate. A 10 a.m., Friday, February 17, 2012, burial will be at Clinton Frame Cemetery, Goshen. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Healing & Hope, Goshen.
