Janice B. Lawson

Janice B. Lawson, 66, of Goshen died Wednesday evening, April 2, 2014 at Elkhart General Hospital, where she had been a patient since Friday. She was born July 21, 1947 in Pikeville, Kentucky, to Ermin and Glema (Glipsie) Thacker. She is survived by a daughter, Jennifer (Mark) Hatfield, of Danville, West Virginia; a son, James Lawson, of Goshen; eight grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth (Deb) Thacker, of Goshen. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Ruey Blackborn and Freddie Thacker. Janice was a caring homemaker who was well known for her kindness and generosity. No one was ever turned away from her home as she cared for so many others beyond herself. Visitation will be one hour prior to the 1 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2014 funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Anglemyer Sr. of Hilltop Baptist Church, Rome City, will officiate. Cremation will follow the service. Memorial contributions will be accepted by the family to defray funeral expenses.
