Janet Lockerbie Weaver

Janet Lockerbie Weaver, 95, died late Wednesday night, June 23, 2010, at The Gables of Greencroft Healthcare, where she had been a resident since November 2008.  She was born on July 5, 1914, in Goshen to the late John and Violet (Bulay) Lockerbie.  She was married in Goshen to Frank Marchand Weaver, on December 23, 1934.  He preceded her in death on May 20, 1974.  A secretary and homemaker, Mrs. Weaver was a graduate of Goshen High School.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Goshen, where she belonged to both the church choir and bell choir; she was also a member of the Delphian Study Club.  She was a Charter Member of Modern Mrs. Home Extension Club.  At Greencroft she belonged to the Chime Choir.  A recipient of the “Woman of the Year Award,” she was a dependable volunteer, working to better those in need.  She is survived by one son, John L. (Sally) Weaver, Sarasota, Florida; three grandchildren, Brad, Jeff, Greg; and three great-grandchildren, Michael, Katie, and Nicholas. She was preceded in death by one brother, Richard C. Lockerbie. Friends may call from 10-11 a.m., Monday, June 28, 2010 at First Presbyterian Church, Goshen.  An 11 a.m. memorial service will also be held on Monday, June 28.  Pastor Alan Griffin will officiate.  Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church.
