Janet Lee Snobarger, 81, of Goshen, died Saturday, March 20, 2010, at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born in South Bend, Indiana, on July 6, 1928, to Russell R. and June (McKee) Stahly. She married Richard D. Snobarger on March 13, 1948, in Elkhart. He preceded her on July 3, 1996. A homemaker and Goshen resident since 1948, Mrs. Snobarger graduated from Elkhart High School in 1946 and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Goshen, Delta Theta Tau Sorority and Maplecrest Country Club where she played golf and bridge. She lived in Brussels, Belgium, along with her husband from 1967 to 1970. She is survived by a daughter, Lana Lee (Richard) Stoneburner of Evergreen, Colorado; a son, Thomas Dana (Judi) Snobarger of Goshen; five grandchildren, Tara and Zach Stoneburner, Jessica (Travis) Elliott, Amanda (Clay) Culhan, and Megan Snobarger; and four great-grandchildren, Shawn Stoneburner, Austin, Drew and Spencer Elliott. She was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Stahly. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 24, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where an 11a.m., Thursday, March 25, 2010 funeral service will be conducted with Rev. Alan Griffin of First Presbyterian Church, Goshen, officiating. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Goshen Care at Home Hospice or Elkhart County Humane Society.
