Janet M. Gray

Janet M. Gray 70, of Elkhart, died unexpectedly Monday afternoon, April 21, 2014 at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born September 9, 1943 in Elkhart, to Robert C. and Claudia Marie (Sheets) Middaugh. On August 6, 1978 she married Herman Gray in Elkhart. He died October 25, 2004. Surviving are two nieces, Amy Arnett, of Elkhart, and Shannon Middaugh, of Warsaw, and a great nephew Daniel Arnett, of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Robert F. Middaugh, and a great niece, Amanda Sue Arnett. A lifelong area resident, Mrs. Gray began as a baker at Strauss Bakery and eventually moved to Martin's Bakery from where she retired. She was member of Maple City Kiwanis and First Presbyterian Church, Goshen. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at First Presbyterian Church, 215 E Lincoln Ave., Goshen. Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made out to the First Presbyterian Church to help the family defray expenses.
