Jane E. Sleppy

Jane E. Sleppy, 76, of Goshen, died at her home early Monday afternoon, December 30, 2013, after an extended illness. She was born May 22, 1937 in Goshen to George J. and Bessie M. (Larimer) Myers. On May 26, 1957 she married Richard D. Sleppy in Goshen. He survives along with a daughter, Jill (Larry) Martin of Goshen; three sons, Dale S. Sleppy of Goshen, Jaye (Cynthia) Sleppy of Shipshewana and Mark (Lisa) Sleppy of Marysville, Washington; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Georgene Krauter of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Elizabeth Myers, Vera Rae Rader and Ronda Lou Ann Wesler, and a brother, John L. Myers. A lifetime Goshen resident, Mrs. Sleppy graduated from Goshen High School in 1955. She worked as a sales clerk at the Walmart West pharmacy. She was a member of the VFW women's Auxiliary, Goshen, and was very involved in her children and grandchildren's activities. Friends may call 3 to 6 p.m., Thursday, January 2, 2014, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m., Friday, January 3, 2014, funeral service will be conducted. Roger Bayak, Goshen Honor Guard Chaplain will officiate. Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to the V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary or Goshen Care at Home Hospice.
