Jane Slabaugh Garber, 56, of Goshen, died late Thursday afternoon, November 10, 2005, at her home, after a nine week illness. She was born June 9, 1949, in Goshen, to the late Paul T. Slabaugh and Grace I. (Martin) Slabaugh. On August 7, 1976, in Bristol, she married Jerry Garber. He survives. Mrs. Garber was a school counselor at Fairfield Schools for the past 15 years. She attended the Life Center, Goshen. She graduated from Millersburg High School in 1967 and attended Hesston College and then Goshen College. She earned Masters degrees in Counseling from IUSB and another in Administration from Indiana State. She is survived by her husband, Jerry, two sons, Joshua (Alisha) Garber of Phoenix, Arizona and Jordan Garber, at home, her mother, Grace Slabaugh of Goshen and three brothers, Steve (Alice) Slabaugh and Phil (Rosalind) Slabaugh, both of Goshen, and Don (Ruth) Slabaugh of Kalispell, Montana. Friends will be received 2 to 4:30 and 6 to 8 pm., Sunday, November 13, at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church. A 7 p.m. memorial service on Monday, November 14, 2005, will follow a private family graveside service. Pastors Terry Diener of Clinton Frame Mennonite Church and Dave Hackney of New Paris Missionary Church will officiate. Burial will be in Rock Run Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Dollars for Scholars or Habitat for Humanity in lieu of flowers.
