Jane Edwards Brush

Jane Edwards Brush, 93, of Elkhart, died early Sunday morning, Dec. 23, 2012 at Greenleaf Living Center. She was born Nov. 29, 1919 in Toronto, Ontario, to Michael E.F. and Gertrude (Edwards) Kelley. She married Howard J. "Bud" Brush June 24, 1950. He preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter, Sara Jean Brush, of Petersburg, Ohio; three grandchildren, Mark Patrick Brush, Alana J. Duncan, and Sarah Stilley, all of Elkhart; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, T. D'Arcy Kelley, of Ravenna, Ontario. She was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Brush, May 8, 2012 and a brother, Brian Kelley. She received her nursing diploma in 1945 from Toronto General Hospital where she worked until 1950. She moved to Warren, Ohio in 1951 and worked at Trumble Memorial Hospital and then for Visiting Nurses Association for 19 years before retiring in 1994. She was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church, Warren, Ohio, and was involved with their prayer chain. She was a member of Hestia Circle of CCL and volunteered for Mobile Meals. She enjoyed playing bridge and sewing. A memorial service will be held Jan. 3,2013 at 2:00 p.m., at Christ Episcopal Church, Warren, Ohio. Placement of cremains will follow in the church's columbarium. Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is assisting with local arrangements.
