Jan R. Weldy

Jan R. Weldy, 61, passed away Wednesday morning, May 6, 2009, at Goshen General Hospital.  He was born to Glenn and Blanche (Bliele) Weldy in Elkhart, Indiana, on March 15,1948. He married Barbara Howell on April 7, 1981, in Las Vegas, Nevada.  His parents preceded him in death while his wife survives. Jan was a resident of Goshen for 40 years after moving here from Nappanee.  He drove truck for G&R Transport of Elkhart.  He graduated from Nappanee High School in 1966.  He was a member of Community Church of Waterford and the Goshen Moose.  He was a musician and played a guitar in a band.  He enjoyed riding motorcycles as well.  He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Monica (Matt) Zimmerman of Elkhart, Indiana, and Jessica (Justin) Miller of Goshen; two sons, Joe (Sinead) Gregory of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Jeremy (Jamie) Gregory of Goshen; eight grandchildren; and one brother, Jerry (Michelle) Weldy of Yalaha, Florida.  Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, May 8, 2009, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  A 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 9, 2009, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp funeral home with Rev. Mike Overpeck officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Oakridge Cemetery of Goshen.
