James A. York, 72, of Goshen, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at his home.
He was born March 29, 1944 in White Oak, Tennessee to Elzie and Hazel (Davis) York.
On February 17, 1996 he married Polly (Leedy) Falin in Benton.
She survives along with two daughters, Sheila (Cliff) Cato of Marshall, Missouri and Jennifer (Wyatt) Brown of Elkhart; two sons, James (Amanda) York of Middlebury and Jamey York of Indianapolis; a step-son, Carl “Jason” (Kaitlin) Lemarr of Jacksboro, Tennessee; 14 grandchildren; his first wife, Gennell Bauman; a sister, Denise (Steve) Peterson of Goshen; and two brothers, Benny (Pat) York of Polk City, Florida and Cecil (Joan) York of Florida.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Melvin, Orville and Roger York.
An area resident since 1960, Mr. York worked in the RV industry. He was a member of the Eagles and enjoyed fishing.
Friends may call Thursday, September 1, 2016, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 2, 2016, at the funeral home. Pastor Cliff Cato, son-in-law, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen.
