James E. Yahne, 78, of Goshen, died Wed. evening, Nov. 26, 2014 at Elkhart Hospice House. He was born April 11, 1936 in Huntington to Burnell and Audrey (Wilson) Yahne. On Sept. 19, 1964 he married Jacquelyn M. Dierks at Saint Bavo Catholic Church in Mishawaka. She survives along with two daughters, Stephanie L. Yahne, of New Port Richey, Fla., and Cynthia M. (Aaron) Hubbard, of Des Moines, Iowa; four sons, Steven J. (Vickie) Yahne and Craig E. Yahne, both of Goshen, Brian E. (Jennifer) Yahne, of Carmel, and Allan J. (Stephanie) Yahne, of North Webster; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Yahne. Mr. Yahne was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and founder of Homecrest Cabinets. Time spent at the family's cottage on North Webster Lake was special. Memorable activities included pulling his children on water skies and inner tubes with his inboard boats, and enjoying the view from the deck overlooking the lake. He also enjoyed time spent travelling with Jackie and playing golf. Friends may call Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where the Rosary will be prayed at 5:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be on Tues., Dec. 2, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Goshen. Rev. Father Anthony Steinacker will officiate. Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Center for Hospice Care.
