James William Miller, 94, of Goshen, died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Greencroft Healthcare. He was born January 28, 1918 in Howe to the late John and Stella (Schaffer) Miller. He married Sarah B. Miller December 1, 1995. She survives. Also surviving are six daughters, Janet (Charles) Marsh of Franklin, Tennessee, Linda (Dewayne) Miller of Middlebury, Sandra Boone of Sarasota, Florida, Barbara (Wayne) Troyer of Bremen, Beverly (Joe) Watson of Sarasota, Florida and Kari (Joe) Dalton of Parrish, Florida; two sons, James Miller of Zephyrhills, Florida and David (Edna) Miller of Sandusky, Michigan; a step-daughter, Cheryl (Dennis) Pierce of Osceola; a step-son, Cletus (Jerlyn) Yoder of Goshen; 35 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth (Kohli) Miller; a son, John "Chuck" Miller; a sister, Mabel Thornton; and a brother, Maynard Miller. A longtime Goshen resident, Mr. Miller worked in the lab at Goshen Rubber for 27 years. Friends may call 6 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 19, at The Meetinghouse at Greencroft where an 11 a.m., Friday, April 20, 2012, memorial service will be conducted. Greencroft Chaplain Velma Swartz will officiate. Burial of cremains will be at Union Center Cemetery, Nappanee. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
