James C. VanderReyden, 74, of Goshen, died Friday, October 27, 2017, at Goshen Hospital.
He was born January 23, 1943 in Goshen to Calvin and Donna (Stump) VanderReyden.
On April 11, 1964 he married Betty Osborn, in Goshen.
She survives along with three children, Kerri (Brett) Gessinger, Brian (Christine) VanderReyden and Michael (Maureen) VanderReyden, all of Goshen; five grandchildren; a step-great-grandchild and two sisters, Diane Weaver of Syracuse and Pamela (Brad) Myers of St. Joseph, Michigan.
A 1961 graduate of Goshen High School, Mr. VanderReyden served six years with the U.S. Air Force. He retired as a supervisor from Excel Rubber.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Goshen, Stone Lake Conservation Club and a former member of North Webster American Legion #253.
An avid Cubs fan, he also enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling and watching professional wrestling.
Friends may call Wednesday, November 1, 2017, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held Thursday.
Memorials may be given to Elkhart County Humane Society.
