James T. Taylor

James T. Taylor, 76, of Mishawaka, formerly of Syracuse and Goshen, died Monday, May 13 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.

He was born May 6, 1943 in Valdosta, Georgia.

On June 10, 1976 he married Jean Pebbley.  She died September 10, 2016.

Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Wright and a son, T. Jeff (Mary) Taylor, both of Nappanee; four grandchildren, Danae Emanuel, Cody Hollis, Erica (Marc) Emanuel Yoder and Timothy “TJ” Wright; two great-grandchildren, Jourdan Emanuel and Zoee Hollis; and four sisters, Erleen (Thomas) Rassi of San Diego, Tina Ralston of Elkhart, and Shelly (Robert) Leinbach and Pat (Robert) Volgelzang, both of Goshen.

Along with his wife he was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Taylor, his mother, Thelma (Thomas) Leer, and step-father, Russell Leer.

Mr. Taylor was an engineer at Goshen Rubber for 30 years prior to retirement.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, 1911 S. Main St., Goshen where a 10 a.m. funeral service will be conducted Friday, May 17, 2019.  Rev. Terry Tyler will officiate.

According to his wishes, cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory.  Burial will take place at Rock Run Cemetery, Goshen at a later date.

Memorial gifts may be directed to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
